Locorotondo, winery visit and wine tasting
(half day trip: morning +lunch time)
free afternoon and evening*
Puglia is also a wine travel destination! The Itria Valley, the very heart of Puglia is defined by a bucolic countryside dominated by several centuries-old olive trees and beautiful vineyards, where we have a very good production of wine. The area, also known as “Trulli Valley” preserves wonderful old farmhouses and charming towns such as Locorotondo. The white and gleaming town is for sure one of the most quaint places in Puglia. No wonder Locorotondo is ranked among the most beautiful in Italy. The town’s name originates in the concentric and round shape of the ancient Locus Rotundus, situated on a hill about 400 meters above sea level. Its high position and its “terraces” offer breathtaking views on the puglian countryside of Puglia.
After a visit of the town, we will continue on the path of puglian wine, reaching a very excellent local winery. The highlight of our tour is a tasting that features the wines of Puglia. Puglian wine is not only an amazing product, but part the history of the region, preserved from generation to generation, and one of the most popular wines of Italy.
