Bread Tasting
Pane di Altamura DOP & Pane di Matera IGP

While visiting a bakery in Altamura or Matera you will learn about the process of bread making.

Indeed, Altamura and Matera, 20 km away from each other, share a millenary tradition in making bread that has recently been formalized with the DOP  label (Protected Designation of Origin) Pane di Altamura and the IGP label (Protected Geographical Indication) Pane di Matera

Beyond the few differences between the two products (basically water and wood/gas oven), both breads bear witness to the millennial durum wheat tradition of the area.

At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a tasting based on the typical bakery products of the area such as bread and focaccia.
