Festival della Valle d’Itria

Where music and beauty blend with opera

Apulia Slow Travel takes you to the Valle d’Itria Festival, where music and beauty blend with opera. Live the famous Puglia’s magic summer nights in Martina Franca!

The Festival della Valle d’Itria (here the official page) is an event of international allure for all opera and symphonic music lovers. It features top orchestral line-ups, before the splendid Baroque background of Martina Franca, one of Puglia’s most enchanting towns.

Every year this event amazes with its ability to bring something new, while keeping strong ties with tradition by offering rediscovered and unpublished works, highly appreciated by Italian “Belcanto” fans, to whom the Festival is especially dedicated.
The festival will be held in the splendid Palazzo Ducale in Martina Franca, and other special venues: cloisters, churches and ancient masserie will open doors to magnificent music.

From 16th July to 4th August 2019, the 45th edition of the Valle d’Itria Festival, dedicated to Paolo Grassi in the centenary of his birth is an homage to the Neapolitan Music School and to Pierluigi Pizzi who directs the two opera productions at Palazzo Ducale.

“Dawnings and glows. Naples and Europe: the golden century” with Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa, Ecuba by Manfroce and Orfeo by Porpora, Leonardo Vinci for the opera in masseria.
